5-Question. Will it maintain proper ph in my aquarium?

Answer:Our African Cichlid substrates will maintain the range of pH levels needed to maintain a healthier aquarium for your cichlid pet fish. African Cichlids prefer alkaline water conditions with a pH levels 7.0 or higher. The pH level ranges for our African Cichlid Substrates are as follow:

Bio-Activ Live® - African Cichlid Substrates
Natural White- Live Cichlid Sand                     7.8 – 8.6pH
Natural Black- Live Cichlid Sand                      7.8 – 8.6pH
Rift Lake Substrates - Live Cichlid Gravel        7.8 – 8.6pH

DRY - African Cichlid Substrates
Malawi Mix - Dry Cichlid Stones                       7.8 – 8.6pH
Rift Lake Gravel – Dry Cichlid Gravel                7.8 – 8.6 pH
Rift Lake Sand – Dry Cichlid Sand                    7.8 – 8.6 pH
Rift lake Mix - Live Cichlid Sand                        7.8 – 8.6 pH

These values are approximate ranges. The pH levels will vary depending upon the time of the year that our substrates are collected. The water levels from the river or lake basins that we collect our substrates from may rise or fall through out the different seasons in the year. This will make the water levels either more or less salty.

African Cichlids will eat just about anything you feed them and they can adjust to a wide range of pH levels. Where you need to be careful is not to make any sudden changes to the ph levels and water temperature. This will shock them and may even make them more susceptible to disease.
