4-Question. How is it used? |
Answer: For new setups, empty contents of bag into aquarium and fill with de-chlorinated tap
water or distilled water. ActivFlora® will naturally bi-segment into 2 layers with finer grade
substrate settling on the bottom layer. If adding to an existing system, lower tank level prior to
introducing new substrate and add slowly, while mixing.
ActivFlora® Planted Aquarium Substrate is pre-washed by a nutri-stabilizing process to preserve
abundant trace elements and reduce cloudiness when introduced to an aquarium. Cloudiness can
be further minimized by filling tank at a slow rate so that the ActivFlora® base is not disturbed.
Slight initial cloudiness is normal and will clear rapidly (1–6 hours).

16-Question. I just put Activ Flora® in my tank and its cloudy, why is it cloudy? |
Answer: ActivFlora® uses a fine particle size that can cause some temporary cloudiness after
water is added. This temporary cloudiness normally clears within 4- 6 hours but in some rare cases
could take up to 24 hours to clear (dependant on filtration methods). To help reduce the
disturbance of the ActivFlora® substrate during setup, place a bowl on the substrate and add
water in the bowl versus pouring new water directly on the substrate. A simple water clarifier can
be added to the aquarium water if you wish to speed up the settling of the particles in the water
column. ActivFlora's fine particle size creates a large area of macro-porosity for stronger root
growth and overall plant health.
