Recommended use is 2lbs (1kg) of Activ-Flora® Bio-Activ Nutrient Enriched™ Substrate for each gallon (3.78 liter) of water. A depth of 3 inches (7.62cm) is ideal for best results.

Directions:
For new setups empty contents of bag into aquarium and fill with de-chlorinated tap water or distilled water. Activ-Flora® Bio-Activ Nutrient-Enriched™ Substrate will automatically bi-segment into 2 layers with finer grade substrate on the bottom. If adding to an exisiting system, drain liquid prior to introducing new substrate and add slowly, while mixing.
